About us

We study ecological roles of secondary metabolites in interactions among fungi, plants and arthropods. Most of our projects focus on mycotoxins and fungal ecological chemistry but we also investigate plant diseases caused by Verticillium longisporum and Fusarium species. Our work relies on molecular method including gene expression analysis, gene disruption mutants and reporter fusions, heterologous gene expression, DNA-based assessment of genetic diversity and DNA-based analysis of microbial communities. We also use and provide collaborative projects with chemical analyses and metabolic profiling and carry out applied research on mycotoxins in food safety.
